Fall 2026 On-Campus Orientation Schedule

Orientation is a required program for all new Boston University undergraduate students.

Please keep the following in mind:

• Registration for Fall Orientation went live on May 1, 2026 via your MyBU Student Portal.
• Students must participate in all of the required Orientation activities and are highly encouraged to register for at least 2-3 elective sessions.
• For students living on campus, you will be able to move into your on-campus housing assignment on Monday, August 24, 2026 or Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Check out the housing website  for information on how to select a move-in time slot.
• Late arrivals and early dismissals do not give you the opportunity to experience the full program. If you think you may miss part of the on-campus Orientation program, please reach out to us directly.
• During Orientation, all of your meals will be covered by the Orientation dining plan, which includes 3 meals/day in any open on-campus Dining Hall and is active from Monday, August 24 – Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Get ready for an exciting week of connecting with your peers, exploring campus, and getting ready for your BU experience! View the most detailed schedule or the overview schedule to learn more about what to expect during the on-campus Orientation program.

Days 1-2: Track-Based Programming

When you check in for orientation, you’ll receive your group number and track letter. During Days 1 and 2, you’ll follow your assigned track schedule and be guided by Orientation Leaders.

Day 3 and Beyond: Elective Sessions

When you register for Orientation through your MyBU Student Portal, you’ll also create a personalized schedule of elective sessions. Elective sessions begin on Day 3 of Orientation.

You can view your schedule and make changes to your Orientation registration through the Portal until August 1, 2026.

Didn’t pre-register for any orientation elective sessions? No problem! Check out the list of elective sessions taking Friday, August 28 – Monday, August 31. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows, so we encourage you to arrive early if you did not register for a session in advance.
