Teaching with Student Journals in the Writing Classroom

Use excellent examples of student writing as teaching tools in the classroom.

The annual Writing Program journal, Deerfield (formerly WR), showcases a selection of the best papers from our writing seminars, recognizing exemplary student writers, publishing compelling essays that represent the diverse topics of our courses, and providing instructors with a collection of writing to use as a teaching resource.

Teaching Notes by Issue

  • Teaching with the WR Journal: Volume 10 (2018)

Using the Writing Program Journal in WR 111 or WR 112

Also take a look at other student publications for additional sources of writing models for the classroom.
