Student Publications

Discover inspiring models here, and help your students find an audience.

WR

The CAS Writing Program journal, WR, publishes a selection of the best undergraduate writing–in all genres and modes–from WR classes. The selections aim to represent the varied topics of our courses and provide instructors with a diverse collection of writing to refer to when teaching.

The Core Journal

The Core Journal is student-produced and publishes exemplary writing by students and faculty of the Core.

Clarion

Clarion began as an undergraduate literary magazine in 1997; currently, it is published in part by the BU BookLab and primarily staffed by BU students.

Burn

Burn is a newer literary journal for undergrads at BU.

International Relations Review

Published bi-annually, the BU International Relations Review challenges readers to engage with underrepresented international issues and to explore detailed insights of the world’s next generation of leaders and future thinkers. Established in 2009, the IRR is an analytical, policy-oriented academic journal.

The Daily Free Press

Founded in 1970, The Daily Free Press is the independent student newspaper at BU.

Poetry Journals Produced in WR Classes

Caravan (Fall 2019)

Poets Now (Fall 2017)

Spectral (Fall 2017)

Semi-colon (Fall 2018)

Other Student Publications

Clarion has gathered this useful set of links to other student publications, including several Writing in the Disciplines journals produced by various departments.

Writing Awards

In addition to the above publications, the Alumni Awards for Writing Excellence annually recognize the best writing by seniors in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
