Location & Hours
The library will be closed for intersession from December 20, 2025 through January 11, 2026. Beginning January 12, 2026, the library will be open Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. See the BU Libraries hours for availability across all locations.
Course Reserves & Reading Lists
Course Reserves services are available for faculty and instructors through BU Libraries Reserves Department. Books and physical items will be available for loan at Mugar Library.
Course Reading Lists for the current semester are available online through the Course Materials service (requires BU Login). View all current course reading lists for Theology.
Borrowing & Interlibrary Loan
All current BU students, staff, faculty, and alumni may visit and borrow materials.
Use the BU Libraries Interlibrary Loan services to request books, articles, and more from libraries beyond BU. Requested physical items will be available for pickup at Mugar Library. Learn more about Interlibrary Loan services and borrowing.
As a member of the Boston Theological Interreligious (BTI) Consortium, Atla, and the Boston Library Consortium (BLC), visitors from these institutions may borrow materials. Likewise School of Theology students may borrow from these institutions. Local-area clergy members are able to apply for borrowing privileges.
