SciENcv Training

A new interactive training walkthrough is now available covering the full SciENcv workflow, from account setup through document download and submission. This walkthrough covers all sponsors that use the system, but specifically focuses on helping researchers comply with the new NIH requirement to use SciENcv for Biographical Sketches and Current and Pending (Other) Support documents, effective January 25, 2026.

The module walks through account setup, ORCID integration, document creation, and formatting requirements. Videos are chunked for easy access for specific tasks, and software demonstrations are provided whenever possible. This walkthrough is designed to meet the needs of both PIs managing their own profiles, as well as delegates supporting researchers with profile management. While videos are available in the walkthrough without a login, the full video tutorial (47 minutes) can be watched as a playlist via a Kerberos login.

NIH researchers are encouraged to log into SciENcv using eRA Commons credentials. For help on establishing accounts, please see our systems logins documentation for in-depth guidance on ORCID, MyNCBI, and other system login information. For any user that has more than one MyNCBI account, please contact their helpdesk and ask them to merge your accounts. Similarly, for users with more than one ORCID account, please follow their instructions to remove the duplicate accounts.

Document setup in SciENcv can take time, and users are advised to begin document creation well in advance of their proposal or RPPR deadlines.
