Parkinson disease affects over 10 million people globally and is rapidly becoming the world’s fastest-growing neurological disorder. Yet, despite its widespread impact, there’s still much we don’t understand about its underlying causes, how to mitigate disease progression or overcome real-world challenges to improve quality of life. That’s where the researchers at Boston University come in. They’re taking on Parkinson’s from all angles, digging deep into its biological roots, exploring groundbreaking treatments, and developing new ways to improve speech, cognition, and mobility for patients in the home and community settings.
Join us at Research on Tap for a dive into the cutting-edge progress being made in the fight against Parkinson disease. From novel ways of understanding brain function to revolutionary interventions, you’ll hear firsthand from experts who are shaping the future of Parkinson’s research and care. It’s a chance to see how innovation is transforming lives and driving change in this critical field.

About Research on Tap
The Research on Tap series, sponsored by the BU Office of Research, brings together groups of BU researchers around important topics. At each event, 10-12 researchers present a maximum of four slides and deliver a four-minute “elevator pitch” of their work. Research on Tap events are open to faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students. Each presentation is followed by refreshments and lively discussion with colleagues and potential collaborators.
