Nomination Opportunity: The Harvey Prize 2025

OBJECTIVES:

The Harvey Prize rewards excellence by recognizing breakthroughs in science and technology. The monetary Prize is a banner of recognition for men and women who have truly contributed to the progress of humanity. No less, however, the Prize is a source of inspiration. Serving as stimulus, the award urges scientists and scholars forward to further accomplishment. The Harvey Prize is awarded annually in a variety of disciplines within the categories of Science & Technology and Human Health. Housed in an Israel-based institute, the Harvey Prize has also been awarded for Contribution to Peace in the Middle East.

Prospective candidates for the Harvey Prize must be outstanding personalities in one of the fields of human endeavor listed under eligibility. They should be persons whose achievements have served as a source of inspiration to many others.

FUNDING INFORMATION:

$75,000 award made to each winner.

Each Harvey Prize winner will be invited to appear in person at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology to receive the prize and spend time at the Institute, teaching their subject.

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:

BU can nominate candidates for the following areas: Science and Technology, and Human Health.

Wolf or Nobel Prize recipients are not eligible for the Harvey Prize unless the work cited in the nomination is new/different work.

INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:

Interested nominators should submit the following materials to the Office of Research (research@bu.edu) by: 2/14/25

  • 1-page nomination statement from Dean or relevant Chair
  • Up-to-date CV for nominee that includes candidate’s present position, main academic activities, place and date of birth, nationality, residence and address

DEADLINES:

Internal Materials Due: Thursday, February 13, 2025 by 5 pm

Sponsor Deadline: Saturday, March 1, 2025
