Limited Submission Opportunity: Blavatnik National Awards 2025

OBJECTIVES:

The Blavatnik National Awards for Young Scientists recognize the United States’ most promising faculty-rank researchers in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences.

The Blavatnik National Awards are conferred at a formal ceremony in New York City each fall.

 

FUNDING INFORMATION:

$250,000 in unrestricted funds. Additional nominees will be recognized as Finalists.

 

ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:

One nominee will be selected for the award in each category (3 total): Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, and Chemical Sciences.

Nominees must:

  • Have been born in or after 1983
  • Hold a doctorate degree (PhD, DPhil, MD, DDS, DVM, etc.)
  • Currently hold a tenured or tenure-track academic faculty position, or equivalent, at BU
  • Currently conduct research as a principal investigator in one of the following disciplinary categories: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, or Chemistry

INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:

Interested investigators should submit the following materials via InfoReady Review by 10/23/2024

  • Questions outlined in InfoReady Review
  • Service and DEI Statement (1 paragraph) describing nominee’s professional outreach and service
  • Nominee’s research summary (maximum 2 pages)
  • Up-to-date CV for the nominee

A faculty committee drawn from both campuses will review internal proposals and select nominees. Foundation Relations will work with the nominees to develop and submit the institutional nomination letter and applicant materials by 12/4/2024.
