Finding Funding in Education: Meet the Spencer Foundation (2021)
The Spencer Foundation, in partnership with the Office of Research and Foundation Relations, will present a workshop to help acquaint researchers at BU with the Foundation’s mission, funding priorities, programs, and grant application protocols.
The Spencer Foundation, a leading funder of education research since 1971, seeks to improve education, make education systems more equitable, and increase opportunities to learn across the lifespan. The Foundation’s programs provide funding for education-focused research projects, research training fellowships, and additional field-building initiatives.
Workshop participants will:
- Learn about the Spencer Foundation’s mission and priorities and grant programs;
- Understand the Foundation’s application cycles and evaluation processes, including letters of inquiry and proposal stages;
- Learn how BU’s Office of Research and Foundation Relations can help support faculty interested in applying to and engaging with the Foundation;
- Understand how the Foundation engages with applicants and prefers to build relationships with grantees.
Leah Bricker, Program Officer at Spencer Foundation, will present this moderated discussion, which will include a presentation and Q&A session.
