(ONLINE) CURA Colloquium: Producing Safe Spaces: Religion in the New Sanctuary Movement

This paper examines the embodied religious lives of undocumented immigrants who have taken refuge in churches in a new iteration of the Sanctuary Movement. Based on findings from 14 in-depth interviews with current Sanctuary residents and their host-pastors, I explore how safety is produced by engaging new and enduring religious practices in this unique space of self-confinement. *Reading the working paper in advance is required for attendance.* Email cura@bu.edu for your copy and to participate in the event!
