Reviving the Fierce Urgency of Now: Commemorating George Floyd and Reflecting on Racial Justice in America

How have we grown and changed in the two years following the murder of George Floyd and subsequent international protests and calls for racial justice and accountability? We invite you to attend After the Fierce Urgency of Now: Memorializing George Floyd, a virtual panel discussion with BU faculty reflecting on the last two years of racial justice and exploring how we can channel “the fierce urgency of now" into the future.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Rachel Zank, University Relations and Campus Outreach Manager for BU Study Abroad and Chair of the Allies & Advocates Faculty & Staff Community Network, and will include time for audience Q&A. Panelists include Ianna Hawkins Owen, assistant professor of English and African American Studies; Moddie Linen, Assistant Director of BU Judicial Affairs; Phillipe Copeland, Clinical Assistant Professor in the BU School of Social Work; and Jasmine B. Gonzales Rose, Professor of Law.
