Join Erik Molander, Executive-In-Residence in the Strategy and Innovation Department at BU’s School of Management as he takes a closer look at deal-of-the-day companies like Groupon, and examines the effects they have on small businesses. 6:30 p.m. | Reception 7:30 p.m. | Discussion $25 per person. About our speaker: Erik Molander is an Executive-In-Residence in the Strategy and Innovation Department at Boston University’s School of Management. He is the faculty liaison for the Undergraduate Entrepreneurship concentration. Mr. Molander has held faculty positions at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore MD, Boston College’s Carroll Graduate School of Management and the University of New Hampshire. His areas of expertise include: entrepreneurship, strategy, corporate finance, international finance, global management and new product / venture development. Prior to founding Mentor Capital, Erik was a consultant with top tier management consulting firms. He has been the Director of Information Industrial practice for Adventis, Inc. and Practice Leader of the Global Industrials Practice for the Mitchell Madison Group (marchFIRST). In these roles he served clients in the consumer electronics, telecommunications, biotechnology, sensor and semiconductor industries among others. Before entering consulting, Mr. Molander was the Treasurer and Chief Economist for CSX Intermodal, a division of CSX Corporation, a global transportation company. He has also held senior management positions at CSX Transportation, one of the largest US railroads, in Financial Planning, Strategic Planning and Divestitures. Erik began his business career at McCormick & Co. the global leader in spices, extracts and specialty foods in financial and strategic planning roles. Mr. Molander holds a BA in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University and an MA in International Finance from the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies. He also holds a certificate in Diplomacy from the Johns Hopkins University’s Bologna Center (Italy). Mr. Molander served on the executive committee of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association.
