Professional Development Events
The LLM Professional Development Office organizes a range of workshops and events each academic year, including information sessions, career panels, networking opportunities, and hands-on workshops.
Our workshops, panels, and information sessions include:
- Alumni Panels
- Networking Events with Practitioners
- How to Conduct a U.S. Job Search Resources
- U.S. Resume and Cover Letter Workshop
- The New York Bar Exam
- The Massachusetts Bar Exam
- How to Communicate with Professors and Employers
- The International Student Interview Program (ISIP)
- How to Network and Use LinkedIn
- How to Get a U.S. Work Visa
- Optional Practical Training (OPT)
We invite distinguished alumni and other lawyers and law-related professionals to campus to speak to LLMs in a variety of formats, so students can get a wide range of job search advice and make valuable networking contacts.
In addition to our many on-campus career-related events, we coordinate programs, events and networking opportunities for LLMs outside of campus, in Boston and beyond. For example, our LLM Discovery Series is designed to expose American Law Program LLMs to key aspects of US legal practice, usually through visits to Boston-area courthouses to meet with attorneys and judges.
