Spring 2025 MetroBridge Call for Proposals
MetroBridge, the experiential learning program of the Boston University Initiative on Cities (IOC), is seeking municipal and community project partners for the spring 2025 semester.
About MetroBridge
MetroBridge embeds the research needs of cities, towns, NGOs, and community organizations into semester-long courses at BU, providing students with experiential learning opportunities through real-world projects that support communities. The program is university-wide, which means partners can benefit from academic expertise across Boston University on a wide range of topics.
The MetroBridge team serves as a one-stop shop and point of contact for project partners, supporting the project from idea submission to completion. We assist with project scoping and development, handle the matching of courses for each project, assist with project management, and ensure effective communication between BU and project liaisons. At the end of each semester, students present their work, and the MetroBridge team coordinates the development of final deliverables.
Because MetroBridge matches projects to existing BU courses, submitting a research need/project proposal as soon as possible increases the likelihood of a course match. MetroBridge will prioritize projects submitted by early November in the course matching process and strongly encourage submissions prior to mid-November whenever possible.
