The Initiative on Cities welcomes academics and practitioners of urban studies and policy to apply for visiting appointments. Visiting scholars can use IOC facilities and connect with researchers in Boston and the BU community. Please get in touch with Executive Director Stacy Fox if you are interested in visiting.

Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar

The Initiative on Cities welcomes self-funded postdoctoral scholars to pursue research, utilize our facilities, and receive mentorship from urban geographer and IOC Director Loretta Lees. Please contact our Executive Director, Stacy Fox, for more information.

Visiting Urban Scholar

We are proud to host U.S. and international academics passionate about cities. These visiting scholars focus on studies ranging from urban governance to local capacity building. Visiting scholars are self-funded and may be in residence anywhere from one month to one year.
