Simona Di Nepi

Charles and Lynn Schusterman Curator of Judaica at the MFA Boston
Title: “From Unnoticed Intruders to New Protagonists: The 150-year Journey of Jewish Objects at the MFA Boston”

Join Simona Di Nepi on a journey through the fascinating history of Judaica at the Museum of Fine Arts. This talk will cover the period from the museum’s foundation in the 1870s,  delve into the following 140 years marked by rare ‘accidental acquisitions’,  to the beginning of a new era, with: the donation of a large collection, the appointment of the first Judaica dedicated curator, many major new acquisitions, their display in galleries across the museum, and finally the opening of Boston’s first Judaica gallery.

This event is free and open to the public.
