KevvyMetalPresents

Kevvy Metal Presents Summer Screen series begins on Thursday, May 31 at 8pm with a film by Bobby Abate.  Brooklyn-based Abate fuses nostalgia, psychodrama, and spectacle with a distinctly modern resonance in his films and videos.  His recent work, the occult themed Love Rose (2010) and Gossip (2011) premiered at the New York Film Festival; and his 1960’s era supernatural drama The Evil Eyes (2011) won the award for Best LGBT Film at the 50th Ann Arbor Film Festival.  Other exhibitions and screenings include the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Guggenheim, Bilbao; the Moscow International Film Festival; and Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. He is currently working on two projects; a video with Rachel Pollack and a feature length film, Dressed in Black with Damsels in Distress, with producer Charlie Dibe.
