Member Pricing
Certain classes/activities offered by the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance include both member and non-member pricing. Member pricing is available only to participants who meet the membership requirements described below. If you receive a member rate for enrollment in a class/activity, and request to cancel your membership prior to the scheduled end of that class/activity, you will be responsible for paying the full difference between the member and non-member rates.
For offerings with member pricing, the person being enrolled in the class/activity must themselves be a member to receive the discount – which is applied automatically at time of purchase. Qualifying memberships include monthly recurring, 6-month recurring, and annual recurring plans. Member pricing does not extend to those holding day passes or weekly seasonal passes.
Please see below for more information. To proceed with cancellation of membership while enrolled in a member-priced program, please contact Ally Holloway, Manager of Member Services.
Offerings with a set end date
In order to retain the member price discount, the enrolled person must remain a member from the date they enroll in the class/activity through the scheduled duration of the class/activity. A balance equal to the full difference between the member and non-member rates will be applied to the account of any participant whose membership expires, or requests to voluntarily cancel their membership prior to the end of a class or activity for which they have paid the member price. This balance must be paid prior to attending the next session of the class or activity. Applied balances can be paid online through your MyFitRec account, or at the front desk at your next visit.
Offerings without a definitive end date
For FitRec offerings without definitive end dates (such as personal training and private lessons), the member rate will be retained if the participant has paid for at least two full calendar months of membership before or after the purchase, or a combination thereof. A calendar month for which the participant has paid their full renewal membership fee counts as a full month, even if they subsequently cancel their membership before the end of that month.
For example, if someone signs up for Personal Training on August 10, they would retain the member rate if they meet either of the following:
A. Signup for membership on July 1 (or were billed for monthly membership renewal on July 1) and paid for monthly membership renewal for August – can cancel membership any day after purchasing Personal Training and retain their member rate
B. Signed up for membership on August 10, purchased Personal Training later that same day, and was billed/paid monthly membership renewal for September and October – can cancel membership anytime after October billing has occurred and retain their member rate (as August does not count as a full month of membership)
If you have questions about member rates, please reach out directly to the specific program area prior to purchasing or enrolling in a class/activity or membership plan.
