The Dance Theater

UPDATE (MARCH 2026): It is with deep regret that we share that theater rentals for performances taking place after July 1, 2026, will be on pause until further notice. This was a difficult but necessary decision in order to re-evaluate the venue’s operations and financial model. We are using this time to reassess and develop a new strategic plan, rebrand the space, and envision fresh ways to activate the theater. Please note: while we are pausing rentals for performances, the space may still be available to rent or activate as a studio (for example: rehearsal space). The Boston University Dance Theater and Rehearsal Space is a 225-seat, state-of-the-art studio/theater space designed specifically for dance performances, classes, and special events. In addition to housing a wide variety of educational and recreational dance activities, the space can be rented for concerts, master classes, and other events.

The Dance Theater is located on the Boston University campus at FitRec, 915 Commonwealth Ave. Boston, MA 02215. The entrance to the theater is on Buick Street.
