Submission Guidelines for CPT Today

Submission guidelines for CPT Today (with thanks to feminismandreligion.com for guidance):

  • Keep it short: Blogs should be between 2-6 paragraphs, or 500-1000 words.
  • Topic: We welcome many different types of submissions. You can update us on your research initiatives, share news and updates within the broader world of practical theology, submit a book review, or send along updates on conferences, CFPs, and job openings.
  • Tags: Include a list of “tags” you want included with your post (homiletics, practice, ecclesiology, pedagogy, spirituality, feminism, ethnography, interdisciplinary, etc.).
  • Original content: The material should not be published elsewhere, although we can discuss exceptions with publishers’ permissions.
  • Collegiality: You are welcome to write with others or create a blog post that has paragraphs from several individuals on one topic.
  • Format: Send your blog in Word format.
  • Images: Send any images as jpeg files that you want included within your post as separate attachments. You may include other pictures with permission as long as they are credited to their source and/or include links to their original location if they are not your own.
  • Links: Please hyperlink books, resources, etc. into the text of your blog.
  • Citations: If you cite or make references to other texts or blogs, please include a parenthetical reference to the appropriate text and page number. You may also link directly to the text if it is found online.
  • Submitting: Posts should be sent to Madison Boboltz at cpt@bu.edu.
  • Reminders: We will send out a reminder two weeks in advance of your blog date, and we request that you submit the piece one week in advance of your date.
  • Questions: Contact Madison Boobltz at mboboltz@bu.edu or stop by the CPT office.
