Korine Powers moved to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from the Commonwealth of Virginia. While earning her undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy at the University of Richmond, she developed an interest in horror films and fictional serial killers. At Boston University, she can now be found in the English department perpetually crouched in front of books and films about American postwar film and fiction. Prior to joining Core, she taught classes in the English and Writing departments on everything from Disney to Dexter.
This summer, Korine edited documentation and developed writing programming for NASA’s Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Internship Project.
When not reading, writing, or tutoring, she enjoys drawing, cooking, video editing, hosting movie marathons, and playing games of all kinds.
She is a Fall 2020 Writing Fellow with the Core Curriculum.
