About Ray Kotcher

Ray Kotcher is the former CEO and chairman of Ketchum, one of the world’s largest and most awarded public relations agencies, as well as a former professor of the practice in public relations for BU's College of Communication.

Having received his MS in Public Relations from the college in 1983, Kotcher went on to spend more than 30 years in the agency business, most of that time at Ketchum where he served as CEO and then chairman for 16 years. He believes in service to the industry and has led or been a trustee of most every professional organization.

Kotcher is the recipient of the Public Relations Society of America’s Gold Anvil and the Institute for Public Relations Alexander Hamilton Medal, those organizations’ highest honors for lifetime achievement. He also has been inducted into the Arthur W. Page Society’s Hall of Fame and is a distinguished alumnus of BU and COM.
