Lubars Prize and Yaeger Prize winners announced
On December 11, 2007, the College of Communication awarded prizes named in honor of two of COM’s most legendary professors. Kelly Burk received the inaugural Walter Lubars Prize in Advertising while Natalia Bovkun was the first recipient of the Murray R. Yaeger Prize.
The Walter Lubars Prize in Advertising recognizes his contributions to the launch of AdLab and to the development of the advertising program. This year’s Lubars Prize recipient, Kelly Burk, is a graduate student in the creative track of the ad program. Natalia Bovkun, the Murray R. Yaeger Prize winner, is a COM sophomore. The Yaeger Prize is awarded to a student who has completed the COM 101-COM 201 course sequence. Dr. Yaeger, who created the COM 101 course, was a professor of broadcasting and film at Boston University, and the prize seeks to continue his legacy. Read about the Murray R.
