COM professor wins international PR award

Dr. Donald K. Wright, Professor of Public Relations in the College of Communication at Boston University was honored for his international accomplishments in both the academy and the practice when he was awarded an Honorary Diploma for lifetime international achievements in public relations by the Arman Public Relations Institute in Tehran, Iran, January 14.

Hooshmand Sefidi, Secretary of the Institute, said Professor Wright was recognized for excellent, dedicated, extraordinary and global contributions and services in public relations. Dr. Wright is one of only two full-time educators ever to have been elected as President of the International Public Relations Association. He has a long record of professional service to professional associations in the United States and overseas.

While in Tehran, Professor Wright delivered an invited paper “Challenges and Opportunities in Creating and Measuring Social Capital in Public Relations,” to the Fourth Annual Symposium on International Public Relations in Tehran on January 13.
