Ava Greene entered the Department of Political Science Ph.D. program in the Fall of 2022 with a focus on International Relations and American Politics. She earned her B.A. in International Studies at Spelman College in 2019. Her dissertation explores the connection between racial hierarchies and U.S. foreign policy by examining the ways that U.S. political elites and institutions shape this relationship. In Spring 2026, Ava was awarded a summer mini-grant which will support archival research and travel costs to libraries at Princeton University, Yale University and the University of Mississippi.
