Ph.D. Candidate
Ava entered the Ph.D. program in the Fall of 2022 with a focus on International Relations and American Politics. She earned her B.A. in International Studies at Spelman College in 2019. Ava’s current research interests include U.S. foreign policy, race, systems of violence & oppression, and racialization. Her dissertation examines how U.S. political elites (re)produce domestic racialized hierarchies through institutions to influence U.S. foreign policy.
