Introducing…Ethnographic Cafe
The newly launched Ethnographic Cafe provides a virtual space where ethnographers from across disciplines, generations, and nations can meet to discuss their craft. BU Sociology Professor Ashley Mears, along with co-organizers Ekedi Mpondo-Dika (Department of Sociology, Princeton University) and Loic Wacquant (Department of Sociology, University of California-Berkeley) invite you to join their mailing list, check out their website for a full schedule of events, and add your profile to their directory at ETHNOGRALINKS. For further information, please reach out to ethnographiccafe@gmail.com. Their first event, scheduled for Friday September 24, 2021 (3 – 4:30 pm ET) will feature Princeton sociologist Matthew Clair, who will discuss his new book Privilege and Punishment: How Race and Class Matter in Criminal Court. Mona Lynch, dean of the School of Social Ecology at University of California-Irvine will serve as discussant.
