Come by Rooms BAB140, 144, and 148 at 300W Babcock Street, Boston, and you’ll see rooms packed with students from all majors practicing for their next big performance on campus.

Boston University Bands program is dedicated to providing meaningful music-making opportunities to all BU students. That’s right, not all BU Bands’ members are music majors. This is music for all!

The band is the thumping heartbeat of the University. It is audible school spirit and pride. Campus would be thriving, but a lot duller without the BU Bands.

Bands and Ensembles

BU Bands offers 11 bands and ensembles, providing fun and exciting ways for non-music majors and music majors alike to have the band experience they’d like while pursuing degrees in their disciplines.

Athletic Bands include the Marching Band, Pep Band, Winter Drumline, Winter Guard, and Scarlet Band. Concert Ensembles include the All-Campus Orchestra and Concert Band. Jazz Ensembles include two Big Bands and two Jazz Combos. And Chorus includes the BU Symphonic Chorus.
