We are recruiting Brass and Percussion musicians for the 2025 Boston University Commencement Brass Choir. This year’s University Commencement will be held on Sunday, May 18.
Commencement is the largest production the University undertakes each year, and the Brass Choir provides the soundtrack for it. The salary is $375, and the ensemble performs some great selections. If you live on campus, you can stay in your housing through Commencement by performing with this ensemble. You can even perform in your robes if you’re graduating!
Please complete the web form below to state your interest in playing. Once we receive your statement of interest, we will work with the instrumental faculty to create the roster – you will be notified once the roster is posted. Please note: Stating your interest doesn’t guarantee you a spot on the roster – be sure to check once the roster is announced.
Low Brass musicians: if you would like to apply on more than one instrument, you should submit a separate web form for each instrument.
The deadline to state your interest via this web form is Wednesday, March 26th by 5:00pm.

COMMENCEMENT
Sunday, May 18 – Approx. 10:00 am call time, ceremony starts at 1:00 pm, done around 3:30 pm.
Music will be available for pickup mid-late April.
Performer Contracts will be distributed to musicians once the roster is announced. As a reminder, stating your interest does not guarantee that you will be on the roster – the faculty will help create the roster, and it will be announced ASAP.
