Originally responding to a 2020 petition written by the students of the School of Music AntiRacist Initiative (SOMARI), the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Antiracism committee was formed. Its members included faculty, students, and staff whose work centered on four main areas:
- Performance Curriculum
- Classroom Learning
- Administration and Community
- Recruitment and Financial Support
The Committee also sponsored activities and special events, including the launch of its MOSAIC SERIES which featured concerts, lectures, seminars and workshops throughout the year including:
