The CFA Opera Institute performed Igor Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress, about a libertine who attempts to relive his life by making a bargain with Nick Shadow—the Devil himself? Only his ever-faithful fiancée, Anne Trulove, can save him from damnation, but is that enough? Composed by Igor Stravinsky, with a libretto by W. H. Auden and Chester Kallman, it played at the Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre Thursday, February 27, through Sunday, March 1, 2020.
