Current Research:

If you were creating a society, in which some individuals are specialized to perform some tasks and other individuals are not, does this division of labour require variation in individual information processing demands, reflected in variation in brain size and brain energetic costs? Does collective behavior reduce individual information processing demands? We address these questions using ants as model organisms and assess whether evolutionary theories of human brain size and energy costs are also applicable to ant brain evolution.
