What is your favorite Biology or BMB course?

BI203 (I took it abroad but I really enjoyed learning in depth about cells)

What kind of research have you done?

I am currently an undergraduate student part of the Tay Lab at the BU MED campus. I am investigating microglial expression of CD11c in the 5XFAD mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease.

How did you get your research position?

I reached out to Professors within the Neurobiology department with research that aligned with my interests!

What extracurricular activities are you involved in?

I am a member of the Alpha Chi Sigma, professional co-ed chemistry fraternity, since my freshman year. Currently, I am the historian/social chair for the fraternity. Additionally, I am an member of the Sigma Delta Tau sorority here at BU.

What is your favorite dining spot on or around campus?

FroyoWorld in Allston or Tatte!

What is your favorite BU memory?

My favorite BU memory is studying abroad in Madrid. I went abroad during my sophomore fall where I had the opportunity to explore a new city, speak a new language, and learn the culture through living with host families while still taking classes. It was the best decision I’ve made and a once in lifetime opportunity I will never forget!

What’s one BU tip you wish you knew sooner?

One tip I wish I knew earlier was knowing and utilizing your resources here at BU! There are so many BU resources provided to students from academics, professional development, and wellness.

What are your post-graduation plans?

My post-graduation plan is to study and apply for the MCAT back home. As a student on the pre-medical track, I plan on working at a hospital while I spend my time studying for the MCAT and applying for medical school.
