Jerry Chen has been awarded the Smith Family Award for Excellence in Biomedical Research. The Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation supports groundbreaking medical research through the Smith Family Awards Program for Excellence in Biomedical Research. Its mission is to launch the careers of newly independent biomedical researchers with the ultimate goal of achieving medical breakthroughs. Professor Chen’s research focus for this award is “Circuit Mechanisms for Long-Range Communication in the Neocortex.” More information about award winners for 2016 can be found here.
