Annual Higashi School Autism Forum
Dr. Tager-Flusberg was honored to be the Keynote speaker at Boston Higashi School’s annual interdisciplinary Autism Forum! The forum, which several CARE staff and graduate students had the opportunity to attend as well, focused on the impact of autism across the lifespan. The forum took place at the Granite Links Golf Club Ballroom in Quincy, Massachusetts, this year, and featured authors, educators, and researchers. CARE has enjoyed a long collaboration with the Higashi School!

Former and Current Post-Docs Featured on Autism Science Foundation Podcast
So proud of our former post-doc Dr. Aaron Shield of Miami University and one of our current post-docs Dr. Karen Chenausky for being featured in the latest podcast by the Autism Science Foundation! They have both received funding to continue their work with deaf, autistic children and their understanding of language development.

Spectrum News featuring Dr. Tager-Flusberg
CARE Directer Helen Tager-Flusberg was recently interviewed for an article for Spectrum commenting upon the genetics of social gaze direction in fraternal and identical twins with autism. "This is probably one of the most exciting papers I have read in the last few months", says Dr. Tager-Flusberg.

Boston University 2017 Graduation
Dr. Tager-Flusberg attended Boston University's 2017 Commencement Weekend to support and congratulate two graduating master's students. Danielle Vitorelo (left) and Ellen Wilkinson (right) both worked on the AppLES (Apps for Language Enhancement Study) this past year as part of their master's program.
IMFAR 2017 Posters
Three of CARE's doctoral students and one Post-Doc presented posters of their research at the annual IMFAR conference, sponsored by the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR). IMFAR 2017 was in San Francisco, California this year.

CARE at the IMFAR 2017 Conference
A number of our faculty, staff, and students attended the annual IMFAR conference, sponsored by the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR). IMFAR 2017 was in San Francisco, California this year. They all discussed CARE's ongoing work over dinner in San Francisco.

Higashi Staff Visit CARE
CARE was happy to welcome some of the staff from the Boston Higashi School to our center yesterday. We were excited to host Anne Roberts, John Maina, Yumiko Mori, and Rebecca Golden. We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with them and their students are so thankful for their help with this collaboration. CARE Research Featured in the Higashi Highlights Newsletter
CARE recently began a research program partnership with our colleagues at the Boston Higashi School in Randolph, MA.
In their fall 2016 newsletter, the school featured a photo of one of our ACE Project Research Assistants, Brady. They also wrote about their plans for their research program. The school is planning on expanding this program in the near future! You can read that excerpt from their newsletter HERE.
