Boston University’s Data Catalog is a cornerstone of the Data Enablement Program, designed to help our community engage with institutional data in a transparent, collaborative, and strategic way.
Through the catalog, you can:
- Explore definitions of the key terms and metrics used at BU—learn what they mean, how they’re used, and where they come from.
- Understand context by seeing how terms relate to broader business concepts and which datasets contribute to our most critical institutional measurements.
- Identify stewardship by finding out who is responsible for managing and maintaining specific data elements, definitions, and metrics.
- Contribute your knowledge by sharing insights and clarifications to help strengthen the accuracy and clarity of BU’s data language.
