Carolyn MacLeod (’14)
Carolyn MacLeod graduated from Arts Administration master’s program in Summer 2014. During the program she explored different facets of the arts and cultural field in Boston by interning with a number of local organizations, including MASSCreative, Boston Lyric Opera, Club Passim, and Opus Affair. Upon graduation she worked for a short time as a program officer with the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and at the end of the contract took a digital marketing position at Huntington Theatre Company.
She is now the Digital Content Manager at the company, managing the company’s social media accounts and digital marketing efforts, and working as the company’s in-house videographer and photographer. Having found a niche in arts marketing, in Fall 2016 she co-chaired the marketing efforts for the 2016 Hacking Arts conference and hackathon hosted by MIT.
Choosing the arts administration program at Boston University was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Being able to work while completing my master’s degree helped me learn by doing, bring lessons from the classroom into the workplace, and build my resume rapidly. The connections that come with the BU program are worth their weight in gold. There’s nearly one BU Arts Admin alumni in nearly every arts organization in the city. Being a part of that community has opened so many doors (and started so many friendships).
