Summer Internship: Music Education & Program Support
This internship offers hands-on experience in music education, digital content creation, arts administration, community engagement, and nonprofit programming. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the intern may have opportunities to contribute to other projects and initiatives across the organization, depending on their interests, skills, and organizational needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and develop educational music content for online audiences
- Create, update, and manage website content
- Assist with online content management and organization
- Support implementation of the Music Circle program
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with audience engagement and educational outreach initiatives
- Contribute to the development of new programs and special projects
- Provide support for concerts, events, and other organizational activities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- Background in classical music and/or strong research skills
- Experience with WordPress and webpage creation
- Familiarity with online content management
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and be self-motivated
- Interest in arts education, community programming, and nonprofit arts organizations
POSITION DETAILS
- Hybrid position with a flexible weekly schedule. Hours may vary depending on project needs and can be discussed
- Internship may be completed for academic credit
- Depending on the scope of the internship and candidate qualifications, compensation may be available in the form of a one-time honorarium or flat-rate fee
The intern may also have the opportunity to support additional initiatives and gain exposure to the wide range of educational, artistic, and community-focused work undertaken by the orchestra.
