PT Job: Project Manager
The May Stevens and Rudolf Baranik Foundation is looking to hire a Project Manager with experience in either non-profits or arts organizations.
The May Stevens and Rudolf Baranik Foundation, established in 2021, is dedicated to preserving the legacies of two artists whose work was intrinsically linked to social justice and political engagement. We are not just an archive; we are a living mission to inspire a new generation of artists and activists.
Our mission is to:
- Preserve and provide public access to the work of Stevens and Baranik.
- Foster education on the critical intersection of art and social issues.
- Empower artists and scholars through archival research, exhibitions, and digital innovation.
WORK ASSIGNMENTS:
- Assist the Executive Director in the ongoing project of cataloging the physical and digital archival materials.
- Continue to develop the master checklist of all art works.
- Manage the update of the Foundation’s website, ensuring it is a dynamic, accessible resource.
- Develop and execute a progressive media relations strategy to secure coverage in art and culture publications.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- You hold a BA (Art History, Arts Administration, Museum Studies, Archives, or a related field preferred.
- You have 1-3 years of relevant experience in a non-profit arts organization, gallery, or museum.
- You are digital fluid, comfortable with (or a quick learner of) database software, website CMS (like WordPress/Squarespace), and social media platforms.
- You are a communicator, both in writing and in person, deeply organized and self-motivated.
- You are passionate about the intersection of art and social justice and are excited to be the public face of this legacy.
- You are a resident of New York City.
