Job: Program & Communications Associate
Newton Community Pride is currently hiring for a Program & Communications Associate (part-time, hybrid, 15-20 hours/week)
ABOUT POSITION
The Program & Communications Associate supports the work of Newton Community Pride (NCP), a nonprofit whose mission is to build community through free arts & culture programming, public art, beautification projects and volunteerism. Reporting to the Executive Director, this person will be responsible for: supporting the planning of NCP programs and special events; development, implementation, and tracking of effective social media and communications strategies; and assisting with fundraising communications and donor relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Assisting with NCP programming, special events, and festivals (including occasional evening and weekend work);
-Developing and executing a comprehensive social media marketing plan across all platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, and YouTube), including creating on-brand graphics, videos, and slide shows.
-Periodically updating NCP website to ensure it is fresh and relevant;
-Assisting with the production of biweekly e-newsletters;
-Managing reporting and analytics for website, social channels, and email communications;
-Supporting the development, execution, and distribution of collateral and graphic pieces;
-Assisting with NCP board and donor relations, including running board meeting technology, CRM management, and donor acknowledgement processing.
QUALIFICATIONS
-Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Design, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
-One to two years of professional marketing/communications experience, or strong internship experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment;
-Strong technological skills and background; ideal candidate will have experience using and managing social media accounts, website and e-newsletter platforms, CRMs, and online ticketing platforms;
-Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines;
-Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills;
-Basic photography and videography skills preferred;
-Ability to work independently and on a team;
-Reliable, enthusiastic. and engaging;
-Interest in the arts strongly preferred.
COMPENSATION
This is a part-time, non-exempt position. $20/hr. Flexible schedule.
