Arts Letters & Number is looking for the Resident Artist Facilities Developer.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Arts Letters & Numbers is a non-profit arts, education, and publishing organization dedicated to promoting creative exchanges across a wide range of disciplines including Architecture, Visual Arts, Theatre Arts, Film, Music, Humanities, Sciences, and Social Sciences. Arts Letters & Numbers conducts workshops in educational and cultural institutions worldwide in collaboration with theatre companies, artists, writers, actors, musicians and filmmakers. It operates an ongoing series of educational workshops, performances and film productions at their Averill Park Campus in Upstate, NY.

ABOUT THE POSITION

They are seeking a hands-on and resourceful Facilities Developer to oversee the development and maintenance of the facilities that support our Artist Residency Program. The Facilities Development Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving the spaces used by resident artists and ensuring that the physical environment supports their creative work. Estimated 16 hours per week required.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Facilities Maintenance: Oversee the day-to-day upkeep of artist studios, living spaces, and shared facilities.

  • Development Projects: Plan and execute small-scale improvement projects to enhance the residency spaces, such as studio renovations, furniture assembly, or equipment installation.

  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve facility-related issues reported by resident artists in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Resource Management: Ensure that tools, supplies, and materials are well-organized and accessible to the community.

  • Collaboration: Work with the Arts Letters & Numbers team to identify and prioritize development needs.

  • Resident Support: Provide orientation to new residents regarding the use of facilities and equipment, ensuring they feel comfortable in their environment.

  • Community Engagement: Be an active member of the residency community, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Hands-on experience with basic maintenance, repairs, and small construction projects.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a creative and collaborative environment.

  • Willingness to live on-site and engage in the day-to-day activities of the residency program.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience in facilities management, construction, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with artist residency programs and the needs of creative practitioners.

  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
