Job: Development and Digital Marketing Associate
Boston Chamber Music Society is looking for the Development and Digital Marketing Associate.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position requires to report to Executive Director.
- Development (45%):
- Search for foundations and apply for grants to support BCMS’s programming and outreach activities.
- Prepare progress and final reports for grants received.
- Assist the Exec. Dir. to create and send out annual appeals.
- Process and enter donations into CRM, run contribution reports and acknowledge donors, and compile donor and long-term subscriber lists for program books.
- Work with the Exec. Dir. and the Board on identifying new giving opportunities and implementing benefits provided to patrons at different levels.
- Digital and social media marketing (45%):
- Create and schedule content for email and social media marketing to promote BCMS’s concerts and community engagement activities.
- Track and analyze social media metrics to evaluate content effectiveness and to inform future content and strategies.
- Submit concert information to online event and calendar listings.
- Support other digital content creation and maintenance, such as updating BCMS’s web site and creating copies for other digital channels.
- Stay up to date with the latest social media and digital marketing trends and technologies.
- Box office and concert production (10%):
- Process phone and mail-in ticket orders, print and mail physical tickets to patrons.
- Attend BCMS concerts and help patrons with ticketing issues at the ticket table prior to the performances. Work with volunteers to set up post-concert reception.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- B.S. in marketing, communication, music, or arts administration/music business.
- Candidates with appreciation and working knowledge of chamber music are preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in marketing or development for a non-profit organization.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Photoshop, Patron Manager or similar CRM, Constant Contact or similar email marketing platform; experience with video editing a plus.
- Remain positive and professional when handling different personalities and under pressure.
- While work schedule can be flexible and remote, attendance at concerts, currently eight Sunday afternoons per season from September to May, is a must.
LOCATION
This is a part-time hybrid job (East Cambridge office, concert venues, and remote) that requires 20-25 hours of work per week, including attendance at events and monthly Sunday afternoon concerts.
COMPENSATION
Salary: $25,000-$30,000 per year based on experience
