Internship: Summer Internship
The Wild Prairie Winds, a nonprofit professional wind quintet, is accepting applications for their Summer 2024 internship. The intern will also get to join the Wild Prairie Winds at their Lakeside Laboratory Residency on June 3-9 in Lake Okoboji, Iowa (housing and meals will be provided).
The Summer 2024 internship is May-August 2024, with a total of 100 hours. Interested applicants should send their resume to info@wildprairiewinds.org by April 1, 2024.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program with a focus on music, arts administration, or related fields.
- Strong interest in and passion for music education and the arts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.
- Ability to work remote and with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support WPW staff in planning and executing events and performances, including concerts, recitals, and educational programs.
- Assist with research and analysis on music education policies and practices, as well as trends in arts advocacy and outreach.
- Help develop and implement educational programs for local schools and community groups, promoting music appreciation and education.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of WPW activities and events.
- Provide general administrative support to WPW staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and other tasks as assigned.
