Job: Assistant Director

Arts + Design Alumni Research DBA The Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP), a non-profit 501c3 organization, seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Director of Research Services. The position is 100% remote. 

SNAAP is a research organization that has collected and analyzed data from over 200,000 arts graduates from across North America. Starting in 2008, over 300 colleges and universities have participated in the SNAAP survey, and SNAAP data have been used for assessment, curriculum reform, recruitment, benchmarking, alumni engagement, advocacy, and more. SNAAP has changed the national conversation on the value of an arts degree.

NOTE: This position is 100% remote.  This is a fixed, 5-year position: funding is expected March 2024 – February 2029.

Salary Range

$65,000+, depending on qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Respond to client requests, prepare analytical reports, and respond to external data requests.
  • Organize and produce SNAAP’s customized reports for participating schools.
  • Develop programs and opportunities to help schools/colleges better understand and use their alumni data.
  • Manage the SNAAP Research Fellowship Program.
  • Develop and operate the SNAAP Panel of arts alumni.
  • Lead the 2027 SNAAP survey preparations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years or more).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in data or survey management and/or institutional research.
  • Knowledge of quantitative research design and data analysis, including survey methodology.
  • Ability to generate and understand descriptive statistics.
  • Proficiency in statistical, spreadsheet and database management
  • software packages, such as SPSS, HLM, Qualtrics, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of best practices around survey research
  • Experience with IRB & data management
  • Experience creating data visualizations using Tableau or other software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or combination of bachelor’s degree plus experience) in data management, marketing or survey research, statistics, psychology, sociology, business administration, education research, or other related social sciences.
  • Previous experience with the arts in higher education.
  • Institutional research or other data or survey management experience.
  • Experience with Qualtrics or other online survey programming.
