Internships at Emmanuel Music are available for the summer and/or fall semesters of 2023: Marketing & Communications, Development and Engagement.

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Job Description:

The Marketing and Communications Intern reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and provides marketing, communications, PR, and box office support to Emmanuel Music. Responsibilities of this internship include:

  • Social Media and Email Marketing – gathering, assembling, and distributing content
  • Drafting press releases
  • Providing support in the creation of performance playbills
  • Updating press contact information
  • Supporting the Emmanuel Music staff with database management – e.g. selling tickets over the phone and/or entering donations into our CRM (AudienceView)
  • Miscellaneous programmatic and institutional marketing support as needed

We understand that most university programs require 15 hours/week in order to obtain credit for the internship. If the work as described does not require 15 hours/week, we will provide other tasks in our Marketing and Engagement departments to ensure this is a well-rounded and educational experience for the student.

DEVELOPMENT

Job Description:

The Development Intern reports to the Individual Giving Manager and the Institutional Giving Manager. Regularly occurring responsibilities of this internship include:

  • Tracking donations and entering them into our database (AudienceView)
  • Drafting and processing donation acknowledgement letters
  • Organizing and digitizing donor files and portfolios
  • Help to maintain the Development calendar
  • In collaboration with Marketing team, support digital content creation for fundraising campaigns and regularly produced institutional messaging
  • Participation in fundraising-related planning meetings with staff and volunteers
  • Provide administrative support for grant proposals and reporting, and corporate sponsorships, as needed
  • Support and attend occasional Emmanuel Music events and performances, as needed
  • Research project(s) related to donor prospecting

ENGAGEMENT

Job Description:

The Engagement Intern reports to the Director of Engagement and provides support to Emmanuel Music’s education and community engagement programming. Responsibilities of this internship include:

  • Administrative tasks such as budget tracking, scheduling musicians for engagement events, communicating with our print house, etc.
  • Attend Emmanuel Music community engagement and education events (e.g. Musical Sanctuary and Cantata Conversations) as your schedule permits
  • Support the Director of Engagement with brainstorming education and engagement events around Emmanuel Music’s artistic programming
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to cultivate digital content
  • Attend Emmanuel Music performances and provide front- or back-of-house support

Qualifications for all positions:

  • Must currently be enrolled in a credit-granting course
  • Must be interested in learning about the administrative work of nonprofit organizations
  • Experience working with Google Workspace is preferred
  • Knowledge of/interest in classical music, performing arts is preferred

These internships are available for academic credit only, approximately 10-15 hours/week. We are also able to work with universities to authorize work/study compensation through these positions.
