Guest Speaker: Charles Baldwin

mass-cultural-council The Arts Administration program is proud to welcome Charles Baldwin as a guest speaker in the Grant Writing class. Mr. Baldwin is Program Officer for the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Inclusive Design Initiative (UP), and former Director of Marketing and Operations at Wheelock Family Theatre.

Mr. Baldwin shared strategies with AR 550 students to help them craft grant-worthy projects that include the foundations of universal design, universal participation, and inclusion for diverse patrons and audiences. Mr. Baldwin discussed innovative projects and programs such as: new training modules for staff, board, and volunteers about inclusion, new methods of engaging user/experts to steward, inform, and facilitate program and policy development, new technological resources in communication and information strategies, programs that facilitate expanded universal learning pedagogies, and programs that support artists, patrons, or staff with functional limitations.
