Amer Sharaf Alhashmi (CAS’00, MET’02, Parent CAS’27)

Amer Sharaf is a highly experienced professional with a career spanning over 20 years, currently serving as the esteemed Executive Director of Cyber Security Systems and Services at Dubai Electronic Security Center. With a wealth of experience accumulated over two decades, Amer has honed a diverse skill set in the field of Information Technology. Throughout his extensive career, he has consistently showcased exceptional proficiency in managing and delivering critical projects, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex challenges with precision and ingenuity. 

His academic journey includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, which he obtained in 2000, and a Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, which he accomplished in 2002, both from Boston University. 

One of Amer’s key areas of expertise lies in deploying resilient data centers that provide high availability and stability for critical systems ensuring the seamless functioning of these data centers and in safeguarding sensitive information and essential services. 

In addition to his technical knowledge, Amer possesses substantial experience in city-level systems. This invaluable expertise enables him to navigate the intricacies of interconnected networks and adopt disruptive technologies effectively.
