On Sunday, May 22, among their fellow classmates and President Brown, Jasmine Mijares (Questrom’23), Dumebi Onogwu (CAS’23), and Christian Hahm (Sargent’23) presented this year’s Class Gift. With overwhelming joy, the Co-Chairs shared their class’ support to the numerous organizations and funds on campus, including the Newbury Center and BU Women’s Guild. They encouraged their fellow Terriers to remember each of the clubs, organizations, sports teams, affinity groups, resources, and scholarships that played a role in their college experience—and to continue paying it forward.

Throughout the course of the year, the Class of 2023 raised a total of $3,784 for student clubs and organizations like the Undergraduate Philosophy Association, The Dear Abbeys, and the Mars Rover Club. $2,050 for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, which provides leadership, vision, and management for initiatives that promote diversity and inclusion across BU’s three campuses. With 272 gifts, the graduates also raised $2,253 for student scholarships—helping to keep BU accessible to all. And 222 gifts totaling $1,424 for the Center for Antiracist Research to continue building an antiracist society.

“These are only a few examples of impact that we as changemakers have pioneered.” – Jasmine Mijares (Questrom’23)
