This year marks the 150th anniversary of Helmholtz's groundbreaking work on the science of music, On the Sensations of Tone as a Physiological Basis for the Theory of Music. This colloquium will explore both the legacy of Helmholtz's work and new directions in the science of music. Speakers include David Cahan, Lydia Patton, Eric J. Heller, and Diana Deutsch.
