Taxation

J.D./LL.M. in Law and Taxation

A limited number of students who demonstrate a strong aptitude in the area of taxation may apply for the accelerated LL.M. in Taxation at the School of Law.  The advantages of obtaining an advanced degree in taxation are principally work-related.  Employers seeking help in the tax area are increasingly citing the degree as a prerequisite.  In addition, many students who seek employment in medium or small firms have determined that the exposure to a broad range of tax issues available in the Graduate Tax Program cannot be duplicated in the firm. In response to this marketplace demand, the School of Law's Graduate Tax Program admits qualified J.D. students to the accelerated, Seven-Semester LL.M. in Taxation Program during their second or third year of law school.
